Widowmaker

Amelie Lacroix was her name. She was heir to the Guillard family name, aristrocracy ran through her blood. Her family home decays under the pressure of tradition and decorum. She began dancing to escape her life of a socialite. She made a name for herself in Paris performing ballet.
Amelie Lacroix was the wife of Overwatch agent Gerard Lacroix. Gerard's life was at risk at all times in his line of work. One night, enemy organization Talon kidnapped the uninvolved wife in the darkness of the night.
Amelie Lacroix was recovered safely from Talon's grasp, thanks to Overwatch's resources and Gerard's relentless search for her. The ordeals she survived was unknown to her rescuers, but at least she was safe at last.

Amelie Lacroix killed her husband in his sleep two weeks later.

Amelie Lacroix's whereabouts became unknown after her husband's death.

Though it was Gerard Lacroix that lost his life, two people died that night.

The widow returned to her captors who had changed her, because she did not know where else to go after feeling the rush of taking a human life.
No one in her previous life could understand, just as she couldn't. She needed to understand.
Talon had changed the inner workings of her mind to ensure the Overwatch agent in charge of hunting them down was eliminated. Without Gerard, the widow was unsure of who she was. Talon helped remind her of who she has become.

The night Gerard Lacroix died, the Widowmaker was born.

Some might consider the Widowmaker to be Talon's most successful experiment. She is a ruthless, efficient killer who has been modified psychologically, physically, and mentally. Her heart rate and breathing have been slowed, and her brain has been altered to feel no emotion nor remorse. On all levels but physical, she is a killing machine. She has undergone countless experiments to ensure she can carry any task asked of her. Surely, the geneticist who led her transformation must be quite pleased with herself.

When the Widowmaker was a girl, she was scared of spiders. She was told they felt no emotion; felt no remorse. Now she can understand that at the moment of the kill, spiders feel most alive.

Despite all that the Widowmaker has gone through to ensure her work as an assassin is perfect, she is still human. Not even the geneticist's interventions can change that.

Maybe someday, Amelie Lacroix will be found.
